Setsubun:- the traditional Japanese festival

Setsubun is a traditional Japanese festival celebrated at the end of winter and the start of spring. It is traditionally observed on February 3rd, and it is a time for families to gather and purify their homes in preparation for the new season. The "mame-maki" bean-throwing ceremony, in which participants throw roasted soybeans both inside and outside their homes to drive away evil spirits and bring good luck for the coming year, is one of the most popular Setsubun customs. Another tradition is to eat Ehomaki, a seven-ingredient sushi roll, while facing the direction of the year's lucky star, which is usually determined by astrology or divination.
